There is one new feature in grade four: the dominant 7th arpeggio. This is a movement between two chords, called a cadence. The dominant 7th arpeggio can seem a little confusing because although we are told it is in G, it quite clearly moves up and down a D arpeggio, only finishing on G. However, you can hear that when we play the G, the arpeggio sounds finished, and this type of cadence would commonly be found at the end of a piece of music to bring it to a close. You are in fact, practising a possible ending for a song in the key of G.
